Marketing Analyst - Direct Mail
at Fanatics (Anywhere)
Fanatics is seeking to fill an immediate position for a Database Marketing Analyst within the Licensed Strategy and Analytics Group in our Conshohocken, PA office. This individual will provide support to the Analytics and Catalog Groups as related to the execution and analysis of Direct Marketing efforts across the Fanatics enterprise; including all channels of commerce (online, catalog, call centers).
The primary role of the Database Marketing Analyst is to construct and report upon the various marketing programs of their assigned clients. Through business intelligence, ETL tools and data analysis, this individual will provide input on campaign strategy, construct circulation plans, extract data and provide in-depth reports outlining campaign performance with future planning recommendations. The goal is to drive customer acquisition and retention and improve ROI.
The successful candidate will possess a strong business acumen, strong marketing background, with comprehensive knowledge and experience with LTV, ROI and P&L structure. Core competencies include excellent interpretive skills; high level of initiative and drive; proven time management abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This person should be able to manage their day-to-day responsibilities as well as be able to balance working on short term imperatives as they arise.
Assist with the development of recommendations, tactics, and future testing based on analyses.
Identify, execute, and measure marketing tactics to enhance responsiveness of different customer groups, including new customer acquisition strategy.
Create and execute campaign list pulls for major direct marketing efforts, as well as, smaller, trigger-based programs within the framework of the overall contact strategy. Ensure that the appropriate audience, segmentations, frequency of communication & other considerations are achieved.
Set-up and run various database queries to extract data in anticipation of campaign planning meetings and prior to post-campaign performance analysis.
Manage all pre campaign set-ups and maintain detailed account of program strategy and deployment process in order to input key data for every catalog drop.
Perform data mining/in depth analysis of customer database to identify and target key customer segments that can drive value for the organization
Provide detailed campaign performance summary following each direct mail initiative outlining KPIs (space, margin, item/sku and profit).
Monitor the quality of data processes by building reports and performing checks of inputs and outputs. Diagnose and troubleshoot data quality and data process problems
Measure, evaluate and present forecasting metrics to support customer acquisition efforts for email, paid search and banner advertisements.
Manage vendor relationships with list manager, broker, and mailers.
Bachelor’s Degree required (Marketing, Business preferred)
Minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in a direct-to-consumer and data-driven business environment
Marketing, Retail or eCommerce experience is strongly preferred
Experience handling large data files, ftp transmission, file conversion, data warehouse usage and extraction
Working experience with Access, SQL and commercial business intelligence applications
Experience with web analytics tools such as Webtrends or Omniture SiteCatalyst a plus
Proficient in Excel - pivot tables and macros
Proficient in Access - running queries and building tables
Exceptional attention to detail; good follow-through skills; ability to self-check work to ensure accurate results
Experience working within multi-functional teams
