SES San Francisco

We’ll be there… will you?

If you’re planning to be at Search Engine Strategies San Francisco (and why wouldn’t you!) you’ll have to stop by our booth to say hello. And if you think you’ll be too busy in panels and presentations, that’s all right… chances are you’ll find us there, too. Market Motive Faculty and students will be moderating, speaking, or presenting in a variety of sessions.

Learn the 21 Secrets to Top Converting Websites with Bryan Eisenberg, our Conversion Faculty Chair… or catch him moderating the panel Deep Dive Into Analytics: When Bounce Rate No Longer Floats Your Boat.

Check in with our Online PR Faculty Chair Greg Jarboe in his two Video Labs, or drop in on Developing Great Content, where he’ll be moderating.

Need some PPC wisdom? David Szetela, our PPC Faculty Chair, will be on the panel of Ads in a Quality Score World. Or get his first-hand analysis of your Google AdWords PPC campaigns in his Power PPC Advertising Clinic.

If you’ve got a website that needs some help, try the Small Changes, Big Results clinic, where Matt Bailey, our Internet Marketing Studies Faculty Chair, will analyze your website to help you identify minor changes that could provide major results. And as if that’s not enough, he’ll be moderating the discussion From Real-Time Search to Dynamic Discovery.

Of course, a great Faculty means great education and successful graduates. One rising star is Noran El-Shinnawy, Internet Marketing Manager for Acquisio and a Market Motive Master Certified graduate in Conversion. She’ll be presenting on the panel for Beyond the Click: What Shoppers Need Now.

And two of our founders, Michael Stebbins and John Marshall, will be moderating Meaningful SEO Metrics: Going Beyond the Numbers, Channel Surfing: Measuring Profit and ROI Across Channels, and Stretching Your Marketing Dollars: The Upside of Search.

Anxious to finally meet your Market Motive classmates? Our students and graduates find SES to be a great place to get together, meet face-to-face, expand their knowledge, and forge new and lasting industry relationships. We’re sure to be seeing more than a few of you there.

There’s plenty to do at SES San Francisco… it promises to be five solid days of valuable online marketing education, workshops, clinics and events. We know you’ll be busy, but we hope you’ll make it a personal challenge to find us all and say hello. We’d love to see you there.

Unemployed may Qualify for Federal Funds for Market Motive Courses

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Out-of-work and aspiring marketers may be eligible for fully paid online marketing certification courses through a US-funded program designed to provide employment training for adults and dislocated workers.  All Market Motive courses are approved by the US Workforce Investment Act (WIA), yet each state may set its own policy for candidate eligibility. Candidates should check with state employment offices to verify eligibility for the Market Motive courses.

“As of July, 2010, I know that the states of California, Minnesota, New Mexico, Florida, and Texas have approved training for Market Motive certification courses,” said Michael Stebbins, President of Market Motive, “We’re seeing a significant demand for trained internet marketers in today’s job market. This will only grow as more companies depend on the web to market their products and services. In fact, we’ve had a number of students hired before they finish the program.”

The 90-day online courses teach social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), PPC advertising, Web Analytics, Online PR, and Landing Page Conversion Optimization. Students may opt for self-paced courses or instructor-led online training.

“I have a traditional marketing background, but couldn’t compete with others who had more Internet experience,” says Jeanne Oberstar, a long-time marketing professional. “I printed off job descriptions that demanded Social Media skills, and took them in to the EDD. They really dove into it, and helped me get set up with Market Motive’s web-based classes, which not only saves me gas money but without a doubt is making me more competitive and relevant.”

“The advertising business is changing every day and Market Motive allows me to learn the latest Internet marketing strategies in the evenings, while networking for my next job during the day,” says John Bement, 20-year advertising veteran and Market Motive student studying from Minneapolis. “Because the online courses are taught by industry seminar speakers, I’m able to keep up with the leading Internet marketing trends, receive certification and impress prospective firms.”
